About Longview Christian Academy
Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life. - Proverbs 4:13
History & Purpose
Founded in 1973, Longview Christian Academy is a ministry of Emmanuel Baptist Church. The sole purpose for the existence of Longview Christian Academy is to provide a Christian education for families who are faithful members of Emmanuel Baptist Church. We offer a conventional education program starting with K-5 and continuing through the 12th grade.
The Word of God clearly places the responsibility for the education of children with the parents. “And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture (discipline) and admonition (instruction) of the Lord.” (Eph. 6:4) To help parents fulfill this responsibility, God has raised up the Christian Day School.
New students are accepted into Longview Christian Academy only if they are faithful members of Emmanuel Baptist Church and have the full support of their family members. Your understanding of this responsibility and your willingness to follow God’s command is evidenced by your desire to place your child in Longview Christian Academy.
All of our teachers are born-again Christians who have been called by God to the teaching ministry. They are dedicated to helping you “train up a child in the way he should go...”. (Proverbs 22:6)
Our prayer is that your child will be of greater service for our Lord as a result of their attendance here at Longview Christian Academy.

Longview Christian Academy is a ministry of Emmanuel Baptist Church, and operates in accordance with the vision and mission of the church.
Emmanuel Baptist Church, formerly Longview Baptist Temple, has held a rich heritage of people and pastors since her founding in 1960. Founding pastor, Nihl Bulkley Sr., was led of God, through the authority of his home church in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, to plant a church in Longview, TX. This resulted in the founding of Longview Baptist Temple. From her humble beginnings in an old farmhouse on Spring Hill Road, LBT then moved to Jenny St. and then, in 1971, moved to her current location on Loop 281.
Two decades passed, and in 1993 a new balcony was added as well as a new grade-school building, a new dining hall, and a new three-story dormitory. Another 20 years saw the interior of nearly every building remodeled to stay fresh and clean. While contractors were at work to keep the interior of the buildings updated, God continued working on the people. Missions and outreach programs were re-kindled, new church plants were established, and the current core values of our church were adopted. Recognizing that God was at work, the church voted in September of 2019 to change the name of the church, and, in October of 2019, adopted a name that reflected the journey of the church… Emmanuel Baptist Church –“God with us.”
Pastor Gray, now the sixth pastor of the church, has continued to grow the vision of the church by mobilizing focused outreach teams to help meet the daily spiritual and physical needs of others. Emmanuel accomplishes this through strategic partnerships with the local food bank, rescue mission, hospitals, nursing homes, and other local cause groups. Emmanuel Baptist Church exists to show the glory of God through loving and caring for Longview.
